Zeitgeist and 9/11
"We must stop the terror. I call upon all nations, to do everything they can, to stop these terrorist killers. Thank you...now watch this drive."- George W. Bush
Introduction:
Just a few days prior to writing this blog post, Justin mentioned the Zeitgeist films to me. I had never heard of the Zeitgeist films. With my usual curiosity, I decided to give the first film a watch since it was on Amazon Prime, Zeitgeist: The Movie (2007).
Part I of this documentary style film covers inconsistencies within organized religion and how organized religion can be used to manipulate people. Part II of this film is where things get both interesting and somber (in my opinion at least)

1. Debris from 9/11
As Part II of Zeitgeist: The Movie begins to take shape, the film shows several clips of the attacks on 9/11 as well as interviews with survivors after the attacks. The first thing that struck me with most of these clips, is that I had never seen the majority of them anywhere else. It would seem that a lot of these clips have been wiped from the face of the internet. One of the first interviews was with a man by the name of Joe Casaliggi, a fire fighter for the New York Fire Department. Joe describes the debris scene after the collapse of the towers. Joe states that within the rubble, they could not find chairs, desks, a computer, or any office equipment. However, Joe does state that they did find a very small portion of a telephone keypad within the rubble.
2. Explosions on 9/11
The film then swiftly cuts to a montage of survivors describing explosions within the towers. Specifically, employees at the lower levels of the towers. This montage raised my eyebrows with interest. While a plane crashing into a tower would undoubtedly cause an explosion, the survivors were talking about these explosions taking place right as the towers began to collapse. Theories throughout the years would suggest that jet fuel would simply not be able to melt the steel beams that supported the tower structures. At the impact site, it is clearly visible that the outside of the building begins to bow inward (concave) right as the building begins to collapse. The film also shows footage of small plumes of dust exiting the tower windows as the tower is in free fall. I have personally wrestled with the idea that the collapses had to be due to "controlled demolition" style explosives. On the other hand, I have also considered that maybe the pressure from the weight of the collapsing floors above would cause air to escape at the weakest points. However, that does not explain the collapse of WTC7 which was not hit by a plane at all. This tower had a small fire in the lower levels of the building, but fell evenly. The footage from the film compares the collapse of WTC7 to footage of controlled demolitions. The similarities are simply undeniable. Therefore, I personally believe that WTC7 at the very least was destroyed via a controlled demolition.
3. The Pentagon on 9/11
Growing up in the shadows of the attacks on 9/11, I was reminded each year in the month of September of what took place on that fateful day. I was a very small child on September 11, 2001, so I do not have many memories of the events that unfolded. It wasn't until my sophomore year of high school that I began to question the attack on the Pentagon on 9/11. My history teacher was talking about the attacks on the anniversary of 9/11. He then pulls up the surveillance footage of the "plane" striking the Pentagon. I have watched that footage thousands of times since that day in class, and to this day I cannot see an airplane in that footage. I definitely cannot see anything even remotely resembling a Boeing 757 passenger plane within the footage. Zeitgeist also shows footage of this attack and talks in depth about the lack of debris that was found at the site. They also show images of loads of gravel being hauled into the Pentagon to literally "cover up" any evidence that might would remain. Could it have been a missile strike? Could it have been a Boeing 757 after all? I'll leave that decision to make on your own.
I have also attached a Youtube video below that shows Part II of the Zeitgeist movie.
